Artist Statement
From a young age, I strived to be a form of perfection that seemed unattainable. Since then, I grew passionate to discover what perfection is and if imperfection can be perfect. I explore the conventions of the three-dimensional art world by delving into the way one can queer creation and production when thinking of an object. I utilize the word queer in two frameworks, the theoretical idea of something/one that does not follow normative rules of form or function and therefore is outside of the norm, and the physical idea of something that is outside of the norm instead of performing as if it is outside of the norm.
