Artist Statement

Beginning March of 2020, the human species began shutting down its doors. A microscopic virus had contaminated the human race infecting millions. In an attempt to fight back Kolkata went on complete lockdown and has been this way for over 45 days with no end in sight. Technology has played a key role in how this pandemic has played out. At the beginning of the lockdown I was connected to more of my family and friends virtually than I have ever been. At the same time it acted as a  medium of spreading false information that contaminated my place. I made these pieces with the idea of contamination running in the mind and our attempts to fight it.  This work is what has kept me sane in these difficult times.
