Artist Statement

After any trauma there is a period of rebirth, this thought has made me optimistic yet again. In the midst of this pandemic themes that have been a part of my work this whole year are becoming even clearer, we live in an inequitable system meant to inspire us but which in reality creates a huge divide in our country. I’ve created my art as a conversation opener about inequities in America. I titled the series “We the People” as a way of reevaluating the country and where we are now. To create a unified equitable country, we need to reevaluate where we stand and make serious change to create a more equitable union.
